Puppetry Workshops
Whether you choose a full-day session or a half-day session, you will have a day to remember! In this workshop, you will build a puppet, make the puppet "come to life," receive plans showing several ways to build theaters and you will help build at least one of them. You will perform with your puppet, in your own theater.
You will receive a complete set of notes and instructions covering all the topics presented during the class, including an annotated bibliography of further resources.
This workshop is especially good for home-schoolers and classroom teachers who want a fresh approach to language arts requirements. Hobbyists and Puppet Ministries will find this workshop to be a valuable source of tips and techniques.

Storytelling Workshops
Have you ever wondered why some speakers can captivate an audience while others put listeners to sleep? In this workshop, you will learn what makes a storyteller captivating, and what works and what doesn't! You will perform at least one story, using the new skills you develop during the workshop. You will learn THE tip for performing comfortably in front of friends or strangers. And, it has nothing to do with what your audience is wearing!
You will receive a complete set of notes, including a bibliography of resources for storytellers.
This workshop is excellent for language arts teachers and classes and raconteurs of all skill levels.

Author Visits for Schools and Libraries
When I visit, my presentation will be designed to meet your specific school and classroom objectives. To help plan my visit, you will receive my Teacher's Kit, which contains 3 complimentary copies of Big Sister Now, grade appropriate study guides, curriculum-related exercises and evaluation forms. With the interactive nature of my presentations, sometimes a lesson develops that is even better than either of us could have planned!
Your students may be on their feet or sitting in silence; writing or reading aloud; creating sound or creating poetry. They may be laughing, or they may be thoughtful. One thing is for sure. By combining elements of humor, storytelling and practical advice in my presentations, students are never bored!
I've been sharing my love of reading and writing with children in both libraries and schools, for over 20 years. I look forward to sharing those experiences with your class and would be pleased to talk with you about a visit to your classroom.
